My war wounds!

As you can see from these pictures, I have been shot in the arm! I has been hurting pretty bad, but I think it is getting better.

Of course the the part that may get left out in the future as I tell the story, is that the "shot" came from a Smallpox vaccine, and I guess it is suppose to look like this. It will leave a nice scar so my future story of being shot in Baghdad will appear to be true! I guess I could have left the vaccine part out now and people would think I really got shot, but I have to tell the real story at least once I guess.

Okay, you had me a little freaked out for a second there. If you hadn't explained, I'd be pressing you for some major details on your "injury". That is pretty gross looking. Does it hurt like a bullet wound???

I have never been shot, but it has been hurting really bad, so you never know!

Are you SURE it is supposed to look like that? I've never seen any vaccination site that is meant to look so scary.

I was so sure that it was a real shot like from a gun!! You shouldn't scare people that way! On the up side, it got Kevin in here reading your blog and that is something that never happens, he could care less about the blogs I think!!
I agree that I have never seen a vaccination that looked like that. Remind me never to have one of those shots, looks not at all to pleasant!! Good luck with the healing process!!

Oh, I do agree that you can now tell of the "getting shot in Baghdad" story and not be lying!!

That is terrible. It really does look like a bullet wound that is healing. How long ago did you get it?

I got this about 2 weeks ago. I guess it can take a few to heal so fun for me!

You did scare me there for a while, but I am familiar with the smallpox vaccination because I had to have one (everyone did) before I started school back in the 50s. It was just part of your normal immunizations. They discontinued doing that later as smallpox has been eliminated in the U.S. It seems like it takes about a month or 6 weeks for the scab to go away (longer if that scab gets knocked off ahead of time) and then you are left with a good sized scar. Even after all these years, I still have my scar. I can't comment on the pain as I was only 6 when I had my vaccination, so I only remember that my grandmother accidently scraped the scab off pulling the sleeve of my dress over it and that did hurt and the whole process had to start over again with the scab etc. I'm glad you're able to have Sacrament meeting there. While I was in Ky., I got you copies of Grandaddy's Army & Marine discharge papers. Thought you might like them.
