So I have been in Lackland for about a week now for Hazmat training. As you know David is here too. Of course since he is in Basic training I don't really see him around. I went to church this morning an did see him there however. I took a few pictures:

Here he is inside the Chapel. The guy sitting down is in his flight with him.
This is his tired look. He said this is how he feels most of the time even if he doesn't look it.
This is how he looks when I mention Miranda's name. I call it his Miranda look.
Here he is walking out of the chapel. Random I know.
Here we are together. People kept asking if we are related. I guess we look similar or something. I will have to get a picture in uniform with him later, I just wore civi's to church.
Here we are acting like we like each other.
Here he is with his cover on.

Here he is walking away from the church.

And here he is walking back to his squadron.

He looks and sounds like he is doing really well. He enjoys getting all the letters and pictures and said keep them coming. He is officially half way and is looking forward to the last month to go by. He said time is going by a little faster now.

Tomorrow he is going in the Gas Chamber, and doing the obstacle course on Tuesday. Then later this week he gets his name tapes sown on his uniforms, so he is pretty excited about that.

If you have any questions, in case I forgot to mention anything, feel free to let me know.

Thanks for the post and the photos. It is good to see him and he does look well, just tired. (Moms worry a lot, you know). I liked the photos of you two together and I hope you get a photo of both of you in uniform. I know you will be glad to be back to Utah the end of the week.
Thanks again for the post and photos.

Oh, so good to see him! I've been so bad, we still haven't gotten anything mailed down there. I am DEFINITELY getting it done for family night this week and putting it in the mail.

So is the church right on base there? How far is his walk?

Great to see you both! I bet that was a big morale boost for him just to see a familiar supportive face.

We'll try to get another letter and more pictures together soon!

Yay for halfway!

If you see him you can tell him that I was thinking about him when I made some brownies a couple of days ago! Also let him know that I will get another letter to him as soon as I can get the time to do it! It is not easy to get things done when Rebecca is awake and she does not like to take very long naps on most days!! Good pictures!!

Alison, The church is on base. It is really close to the lodging they have me in, but probably 10 or 15 minute march for David.

Susannah, If I see him I probably won't mention the brownies, because then he will want them and can't have them, or any desert for that matter. I thought I would be cool and tried to sneak him a candy bar at church, but he declined and said integrity is more important, and he will just have that stuff when he graduates. :)
