I have been thinking about this a lot lately, probably because I have noticed how many I use in a day.
Growing up I never really had many nicknames. The obvious is of course Andy, which as a kid I did not like and would tell people to call me Andrew. I actually don't mind now though. In fact there were some people that never listened when I was a kid that have always called me Andy, and on the rare occation that they call me Andrew now it is really weird. I think Alison is about my only sibling who has consistantly called me Andy. A lot of people at work and stuff now call me Potter. For some reason ever since I got home from my mission I went from Elder Potter to just Potter. Even when I introduce myself as Andrew, when people find out my last name they like to stick with that. I am also fine with that. I have always been proud to be a Potter. But I guess the only nickname that I have been called was as a kid by my older sisters which was Andy Pandy, and they would sing the song (the georgy porgy - or how ever it is spelled - song).
To my knowledge the only nicknames Marni had was Marn which her entire family still calls her, and her dad called her Muffing - not to be confused with muffin. I think I have heard him call her that a couple times since we have been married, but mostly she is just Marn now. To me she is always Sweetheart. In fact a lot of the time she thinks I don't know her name because I rarily call her by it, I just call her sweetheart, or Mom/mommy when Lilly is around.
But the whole reason I have been thinking about this lately is because of the vast number of nicknames that Lilly has. There are so many I will probably forget some so sorry. Her main nickname is Lilly-Bear which I have been calling her since she has been in the womb, and still call her on a daily basis. It has caught on some and some other people call her that sometimes too. But she is also called: pooh-bear, punkin-bear, punkin-bum, punkin-head, punkin, punk, babe, lilly-pants, stinker-bug, stinker, tinker, bug. I know there are more but I can't think of them right now. So I may update this in the future. If I do I will put the new ones in a different color so they are easy to find, so feel free to check back from time to time.I am sure as time passes and she gets older some of these will stop being used, and others may be invented, but as far as I am conserned she will always be my Lilly-bear.

You know, Mom only named you Andrew so that she could call you Andy! And you were well into your teenage years before the Andy dwindled. And as you know, I still use it. Also: Mommy made up the Andy-Pandy song, we just repeated it a lot!
Andy Pandy puddin'and pie, kissed the girls and made them cry... You used to get so MAD when we sang that, which is of course why we kept singing it. By the way, I still refer to you an awful lot as Andy too but usually just with our family because we have a good friend named Andy and Kalen gets too confused if I call you Andy. Plus, I've always referred to you as Uncle Andrew with my kids so I'd only confuse them with Uncle Andy. They'd think they just had another uncle they'd never met.
Okay, okay, blame it on me. I liked the name Andrew (obviously), but you were such a cute, smiley baby that the name Andy fit you a lot better..through age 3 or 4, you were an Andy instead of an Andrew. However, if you recall (long time ago so you may not) when you requested (you said "Not Andy, I'm Anroo"), I honored your request and called you Andrew and have ever since.
I like Lilly's nicknames. I call her Lillikins a lot (don't know why, just sort of comes out sometimes.
